The rating system we use is based on the Elo rating system. You might have heard of it if you also play games such as chess, table tennis and scrabble. This system has been used for several decades now and has proven to be a fair way of rating players.
The system we use is slightly different however, as we have made it easier for you to increase your rating. Each game you win will always reward you with at least one point.
There is one exception though: you will not earn points for games where your opponent gives up before the third round. We have chosen to do so to avoid the risk of players intentionally losing to improve another player's stats.
You can view the rating system as a stretched rubber band. The further you are from the middle, the harder it is to go further up or further down. This means that when your rating is low, you earn more points when you win and lose fewer points when you lose. On the other hand, you will lose more points when you lose and win fewer points when you win if your rating is already high.
